If you give a man a fish you will feed them for a day; if you teach them how to fish you will feed them for a lifetime. This is a metaphor for training dogs. If I give you a well trained dog but I don’t teach you anything you will probably experience the benefits for a day (metaphorically speaking). However, if I teach you how to train a dog, you will save time, enjoy a great companion and enjoy the benefits of a well-mannered companion.
I by no means know everything I aspire to know about teaching dogs but everyday I am learning something new. In fact, just a short time ago I was able to throw out the old premise that you must take your new puppy out to potty every 20-30 minutes and wait for an extended period of time for them to eliminate, anywhere from 15-60 minutes. Well, that is so far from the truth as I live something completely different. Allow me to assist you with what I have learned from experts in the field of dogs and training them.
